ISSUE VI – WAYS OF SEEING
1903 JOURNAL

Editor-in-Chief Josefine Skomars

The 1903 Journal has since the first edition in 2018 offered a space in which to delve deep into the subjects of inspiration for each collection. People from various backgrounds and disciplines – artists, writers, photographers, artisans and entrepreneurs – are each season invited to tell their stories and interpret the themes through their mediums, bringing their unique views and creativity to the pages.

For the Spring/Summer 2021 season the starting point is the idea of the Grand Tour, a journey undertaken in the seventeenth century to gain knowledge in both the classical arts and other cultures. In the journal we set off on a grand tour through our senses, exploring the theme of perspective: individual ways of seeing the world. Classics are reimagined in interdisciplinary works spanning art, science and technology, encouraging us to examine and rediscover the familiar, while new innovations, art forms and artists through their imagination expand our world and how we can experience it.

Here is a peak into the sixth edition of the 1903 Journal.
